The harmonica is alive in British rock from
the very beginning, between the lips of Civil Davies, Duster Bennett, John Mayall or Brian

In 1965, the first Paul Butterfield LP sold over a
million copies, throwing a bridge between blues and rock for the harmonica. Pauls
playing, both powerful and lyrical is obviously deeply influenced by Little Walter. |

| The influence of the
guitar on the harmonica

The extreme virtuosity of the guitar heroes in
the 90's could not fail to influence harp playing. John Popper,
excellent singer and leader of the group "Blues Traveller" has developed a
forceful style based on particularly rapid licks, and frequent runs in the upper register.

In a more bluesy vein, Little John Chrisley
shows an interesting and inspired velocity. |
